Why Wales?

Wales offers the perfect backdrop for a conference with its unspoilt country landscape and rugged coastline to the modern city skyline found in cities such as Cardiff and Swansea. With a varied and dramatic landscape, Wales has three National Parks covering an area representing 20% of the country’s land. These three parks include Snowdonia in the North, Pembrokeshire in the West and Brecon Beacons situated in Mid Wales. Unlike National Parks in some other countries, these National Parks aren’t wilderness but living communities within striking countryside containing quaint villages and market towns.

Why not combine business and leisure and take advantage of the magnificent scenery and array of activities that the country has to offer. Wales’s close proximity to the coast means that it is popular with walkers, hikers, cyclists, surfers and sailors, and with 42 blue flag beaches the Welsh coastline is popular in the summer months. For something more exhilarating there is white water rafting in the Brecon Beacons or rock climbing in Snowdonia.

Accessibility

Wales is an ideal location for any conference event or corporate team building session and is very accessible by road, rail or air. It’s only two hours from London along the M4 and Cardiff International Airport has regular flights to the whole of Europe and beyond. Wales is serviced by a number of airlines who have direct routes into Wales and into cities close by such as Bristol, Birmingham, Liverpool and Manchester. All areas of Wales are well served by Britain’s motorway network and rail services.

Trains are very frequent from London Paddington to Cardiff Central and takes just two hours. It continues to Swansea, with onward connections to West Wales. For the North of Wales there is a high speed train which leaves from London Euston and there is a good train links from mid Wales to the Midlands. National Express runs a nationwide network of express coach services to cities and major towns in Wales. You can also reach Wales by ferry from Ireland.

Various Venues

Wales has a variety of conference venues to choose from, with over 600 castles, one of the largest golf resorts in Europe and an array of modern purpose built conference facilities and accommodation. Whether you are planning a small meeting, a team building session with colleagues or a large seminar and presentation for hundreds, Wales has an abundance of conference venues, facilities and professional services to suit everyone’s needs. Choose from a small country house hotel or the spectacular Millennium Stadium in the country’s capital which has a capacity of 74,000. If it is private hire you are looking for with that additional high standard of service, then don’t worry as there are many traditional country house hotels which host exclusive use conference events.

Together with a variety of venues and stunning scenery, Wales offers the perfect place to hold that important conference or seminar. You can therefore combine business with leisure and enjoy yourself on one of the many championship golf courses, challenge yourself to one of the exciting outdoor pursuits or take the relaxing option and pamper yourself in one of the many health and leisure spas.
