Here are just five of the fun things to do in the Wenatchee area.

Apple Capital Loop Trail

One of the best features the city of Wenatchee has to offer is the Apple Capital Loop Trail. This city walkway follows the banks of the Columbia River for about five miles before crossing the river and continuing back on the East Wenatchee side of the river until it crosses back over to complete the loop. This is a popular retreat for bikers, walkers, runners, and anyone looking to enjoy the outdoors while in Wenatchee.

Aplets and Cotlets Tour

Located in Cashmere, a mere seven miles to the west, is the famous Aplets and Cotlets factory. These great tasting candied fruit are very popular, especially around gift giving occasions. Tours of the factory, including free samples, are available and are very popular with both children and adults alike.

Rocky Reach Dam

Rocky Reach Dam is located just seven miles north of Wenatchee and offers a number of fun things for a traveler to do. The dam has an amazing amount of wide open playground space, climbing toys, and many many picnic areas. Inside the visitor’s center, guests can learn about the dam itself as well as view the fish making their way both upriver and downriver. Out on the dam is the Museum of the Columbia, a very nicely equipped museum that features information about the dam, the Columbia River, and the entire North Central Washington.

Wenatchee Wild

The Wenatchee Wild are a fairly new sports team in Wenatchee, but they have already garnered a strong following. The team finished in first place in their first season in town, even though it was also their first season in the league. The Wild play their home games on the ice at Wenatchee’s Town Toyota Center, and the games are extremely exciting.

Visit Leavenworth

Leavenworth is a Bavarian themed village located on Highway 2 approximately 20 minutes west of Wenatchee. This is a shopper’s paradise with a number of small locally owned businesses offering everything from knick knacks to t-shirts, and even Christmas decorations. The city is also home to some great restaurants too. One of the other strengths of Leavenworth is it being conveniently located near a number of popular outdoor recreation locations.
